Our Story
We are Laurie and Thom Vallance, and we started marbling in the early 1990s. Laurie's mom (Mara) inspired us with a book on water marbling, and since then we have created many amazing designs and products. Around 1990, we started our business, Asutra, along with our friend Eric. Since then, we have evolved into BeMarblous!

Always Experimenting
Reproducing the same design repeatedly is the opposite of our process. We love trying new ideas and creating things differently than previously. At the same time, building on techniques that worked in the past, recognizable patterns become the styles we are known for and people follow. Bringing a love for experimentation into collaborating relationships with other designers and artists ignites the synergy that can develop greatness and imagination-shattering results. Why be ordinary?
